The end of my commitment to myself!

1st heart I am giving away in the 12th giveaway. Do not leave a comment here, leave it on this post only → http://mariesegal.blogspot.com/2010/04/12th-giveaway-you-are-sacred.html
closes on the 5th of May, 2010 6 pm pdt.
Well, this is the end of the month and I have made it.

I have posted every day of the month, even on two days, twice, Woooooooooooowhoooooooooo. I am really proud of myself, but I reject the "having to" of it. I usually always reject that ☺.

I now, though, admire anyone that posts on a schedule of more than 2 or 3 times a week on a consistent basis. You are doing a fabulous job. It takes work to keep a blog going. I know that some are just gifted, and they can pump out stuff 24/7/365, but I believe most of us are just regular guys that do a bang up job of making our blog work.

The writing, the coming up with the content, the photos, the planning, the editing of the writing for interest, grammar, and spelling, the editing of photos for looks and nice composition, the messing with the programs that they blog with, the playing with the computer that is usually their friend and sometimes the opposite, and the making and finding of interesting research and content to attract and keep someone’s, that they have never even met in person or virtually, attention.

I, after only a month, am driven and compelled to clap, stand up and say Brava or Bravo, pat you all on the back, and just generally thank you profusely for taking the time to rock this person’s world on a regular basis. Damn you are good. Thank you!

I follow a blog, which the woman has committed to post 365 days. Whoa, is she nuts or what? I don't think so. She has just set her bar really high. I am cheering for her too, I hope she makes it.

The truth of the matter is, it is good content and funny, compelling, heart moving, and mind stirring all of the time. I am sure there are others out there, but this blog has stuff I am interested in, in this moment. It is therefore only my opinion. I am going to share it with you; maybe it will interest you too.

Her name is Katherine Jenkins, the blog is "Lessons from the Monk I Married",

Go Katherine!

  1. I do fairly well at getting posts up, but it seems now that it is harder ad harder timewise to do them. Sometimes the issue is *me* and sometimes, well, more than sometimes, it is at the *other end* which usually has me screaming, swearing and pulling the hair.
I applaud you for doing this every day for a month AND making great art too.
Don't know how you did it.
But I certainly ENJOYED it....probably more than you did...LOL!! ;)
I put that B.W.O. image in my sidebar to remind myself that I do NOT have to post daily....
and yes, Kudos to those that can.
    Now off to letters.

    XXOO!!

  3. Marie sweetheart...you put me to shame!
You know how "away with the faeries" I am...
But...I hope my faithful ones do return to visit me when I do show my face!
I am now slinking off...in shame...at all of you prodigious bloggers...

I give you a very big slap on the back...in a good way of course!

  6. I would say you do really well Anne. And you make me spit tea at my screen several times during one of your posts! That is worth millions to me.
I thought for me that spring had something to do with getting things posted and making it much harder to do it. During the winter it was much easier to get things up. I will have to remember to take advantage of this next winter. It is though harder to get my pictures taken.
Thank you Anne it was much easier just to slap up a picture than it was to come up with the brilliant copy the way you do.
I really do have much more appreciation for the bloggers that do though.
    Walk a mile... right??

  7. Thanks Julianna! I was pretty proud of myself for making it. I did not get to spend as much time visiting, commenting, and reading others blogs though, and I really enjoy that too.
So in the quest to find the answers, I thought I would see if I could do it all for a month.
    I can not.

  8. I did not mean to put you to shame Celia.

I need to go be off with the faeries now. I think that is probably way more fun and interesting. And probably a lot more relaxing.

I really just wanted to see if "I" could follow through with it.
I thought I might want to set a schedule for myself too, but I think I won't. I think even monday, wednesday and friday is too rigid for me. I do though like posting for 7 in the morning my time. That was nice to find out.
I know, that I won't know until I try, so I just tried it on to see how it felt.

  11. I agree with everything you said. In fact i held off doing a blog as long as i could - for years believe it or not. I knew it would be time consuming & hard to keep especially for my blog the same type of content constantly interesting & useful to people.

Congratulations on achievng your goal in that.

I took a look at the 365 posts blog WOW dedcation or what. The posts are mixed, regular & quite interesting at times well worth a read.

Gotta go stacks to do as always lol.

  12. Yay Marie! I could never do more than one time a week. I have trouble doing that! Getting the pictures, fiddling with them, accidentally deleting them on Blogger, finally writing the words - by the time I get it posted - I want to leave it there for a year and rest. LOL! I love Nemo's heart - these are just fabulous! xoxo Pam

  13. One of the reasons I only post once a week...comments! I LOVE getting comments and if I post too often, I don't give folks a chance to stop by and say hi. Blogging can certainly be a full time job. I always wanted to be a writer and this fills that need. I have had fun reading your posts and have to say, you've done great and you deserve a break anytime you want. Take care. Susan

  14. Wooohooo, you DID it, girl! I have to bow down to YOU. Yes, it is a lot of work. But you produced, and you've made such incredible stuff this past month. Congratulations!

  15. I really do find it hard to post even twice a week! I want to keep everyone happy and not have everyone think I'm slacking off! But it really and truly is a lot of hard work, as you mentioned. The photos, the typing, the content, and whatever other things that you may need to include in any given post. It is truly a skill to try and craft a post that will prove interesting to (most) everyone. Bravo to you, my friend! You do it well. : ) Theresa

  17. I try very hard to post three times a week on my blog. I usually do, but if not, I also try not to beat myself up about it! Kudos to you!

Thanks for sharing that awesome blog!

  18. I know what you mean. I have committed to 200 posts this year but there is no way I could do a post everyday.

    Congrats on meeting your goals.
