Picture this!!

I found these little frames, which are actually slide holders.
These look great in scrap books.
I used them for templates and made some clay frames which can also be used in scrapbooks, made in to jewelry, or magnets.
What about Christmas ornaments with pictures in them?

You will need:

Cernit Biscuit, White, or Opaque white (You can use other colors, I just used these for these pictures)
Clay machine
Clay slicing blade
Exacto-type blade
Textures
Pinata inks
Slide frames
small stencil brush
Metallic inks (brilliance, MicaMagic, these heat set and are permanent)

Condition and roll out your clay on the 3rd thickest setting in your clay machine.
Lay the slide frame on the clay and trace around it cutting with your blade.

I have better luck cutting with a exacto type blade on the inside of the frame.
You can stipple with a stiff stencil brush.

Put on a little Pinata alcohol ink.

Then add another color and daub with a paper towel to blend (Kind of) ;-D
You can bake this one just like this or...

Stamp with gold metallic ink and bake. Tah-dah frame done! Scrapbook and flexible frames.
What about a necklace?
I will play with this later for ya!

Here is another way. Roll out the sheet of clay and then roll through with a piece of lace fabric to texture.
Cut out frame from this sheet.

Highlighted with Distress ink so you can see the texture. This wonderful ink (love for my cards) is not the best to use with Polymer clay, it really never dries and will rub off. Great for step by photos though, YAY!

Here it is colored with another metallic ink and then blushed with a gold ink to further accent.
Bake and go! That scrapbook is waiting. Also you can glue to the cover or paper with a small bead of glue along each side and the bottom and you will be able to slip a small photo in and out of it when the glue has dried..

Here is another way. Roll out your clay on the above setting and then roll through with a texture plate.

Ink and bake.

Yesterday, I slept all day.
I told you about the cold I had before. Well, It came back with a vengeance.
Knocked me down and continued to flog me for a few days.
We have what we call in Southern California , Santa Ana weather conditions. These have not helped by drying me out, as I would imagine they would, they have made me feel awful.
It is so dry that I have had nose bleeds all day yesterday. This just sucks.
My head hurts so bad.

Another lovely paper, flap closed.

I though the paper with the alphabets was too big, but I think it looks good.

Flap closed and pages facing each other. This is how the pages will look when you open the book. These pages have a slightly green cast to them.

Next 2 pages and these have a slightly blue tint to the pages. I do adore domino's, so this paper is perfect for me!
You can also see how the tag fits in the top flap and in to the small flap on the right of the left page.
Hard to believe I wrote that with this cotton covered head.

The right page with the tag in the bag, but no tag in the flap or little pocket next to the rivets  and along the bottom.

Another awesome paper, I love the music sheet.

Writing happens to be one of my favorites too and with this brown fabric looking paper I wish I would have put this is the front of the book. The part of the paper that has the darker pattern over the top of it is glossy, nice contrast to the matt paper.

Here is the last page, it is the same as the front page facing the cover or I should say it matches that one.

Binding this one was not working for Jodi or I. We used rings and then cables and it was just not opening right.

I had bought some wire cable necklaces from a gem fair I went to and tried those on the book.
The book opens nicely and the pages fall flat when you open them.
I think they are going to work. This is the bottom of the front cover.

Monday Updates- Another week

I am exhausted, blissfully, and my hands are so dry from the paper.
It started on Friday night, I got to Jodi's about 9pm and we started right away. We finished the birdhouses that night.
I always bring my homemade Hummus. I do have to say that I think it is the best hummus I have ever eaten in my life and I have eaten tons of it, even in Israel.
It was very, very good in Israel, very good, but I like mine better (IMHO). We ate hummus and chips and made a huge mess. I was feeling totally gratefully for the place to escape to, the companionship from one of my favorite people, the craft craziness, and the good food.


Lucky, lucky me.

We stayed up till 3 am. Crazy, I know, and Jodi had been up since 5 am that morning.

She adores paper, it revs her right up. You can feel the love of it coming right off of her like waves when something floats her boat or she shows you something new.

We laughed and laughed and time flew by, I do not think either one of us realized what time it was.

When we finished the houses we started to make a small 10# envelope mini.

We had been planning to do something Steampunk.

She likes it too, but this is something that truly floats my boat.
