Happy Mother's Day

I have a different view than most about Mother's day. I believe that all women are mothers. We  mother others, our pets, our husbands, our wives, our neighbors, our parents, our boyfriends, our girlfriends, our children, our grandchildren, our ideas, our dreams, our coworkers, our friends, our art and our lives. We give birth on a daily basis and it is not always human children.

Happy Mother's day to all of you!

Give birth to love, caring, and joy, we need some in this world.
Madi wants to say Happy Mother's day to you all too, especially to her mother.

She is trying very hard to get into this tiny box.

This is for you Anne, you said you would like to see a different light switch plate and in my spare time I whipped one out for you.
I antiqued it with the black Ne-opaque, but it got darker than I wanted it to.
So I made another so you could see the before the black antiquing.

I like them both.
I am going to antique the little skulls only on this one.
Almost hard to believe I used the same colors on both of them.
Have a wonderful weekend all.

  3. Wow I love your new light switches! Are you using them in your house?

One time I was people watching and and the thought came to me... not as profound as I'd like it to be
: ) That every single person was born from a woman. Every single animal was born from a female... at the time I just thought WOW!

Much love to you this Mothers Day week-end!

  6. Giving birth to love, caring, and joy is a lot less painful. And it is much shorter gestation period, too.

Awwww, Madiiiiiii. So curious and determined. Gotta love that.

  8. Not fair! Blogger ate my comment!

    So I'm saying it again!

I had to look twice for the skulls, Marie. The colors make me want to dance. What a way to let there be light!

I love how you've acknowledged the mothering women ( and some men) give every day in so many ways. For me being a Mother is my proudest moment for all my life.

Madi's resourcefulness: gee, I wonder where that comes from!!

The happiest day to you, Marie. Xoxoxo

  12. You're the one who wrote that!!! I have a sister who, although she regretfully has no children of her own, was a second mother to my children, is a loving caring R.N., and mother to her pet and our aging parents, etc. etc. Your post on FB so moved me yesterday it enabled me to give a Mother's Day gift to my sister without "prodding old hurts". Thanks so much for sharing this sentiment on FB. I tried to find it again today to re-post with credit to the person who first posted it and couldn't find it for anything. Happy Mother's Day to you, also and thanks again, with hugs and smiles. Sue C

  15. Happy Mother's Day a bit late. Those light switch plates are adorable. You do so much good with polymer clay. BTW, I got nine comments/compliments on my pin at the Craft Show on Saturday. Surprisingly, most came from jewelry makers. Everyone asked if I bought it at the event and I laughed and said "No, it was a custom piece made specifically for me." I think the jewelry people wanted me to buy one of their wares, but I had the best piece in the entire place.
