Thursday Thankfulness, A squiggle here, a squiggle there, a thousand lines later.

My friend Ces from "Ces and her dishes" is worthy of Wednesday wonder, but since I know her personally, I thought it would be nice to say a few words.
What is it like to know someone with magic in their fingers? To have an idea of the monumental feat of pen and ink to perform something so beautiful.
All things come together to form an image of beauty, many lines, many thoughts, and many years of practice bring Ces to something that is easy for her, something of a second nature, something of play, something of beauty for the rest of us.
I appreciate this feat, I touch the paper, I see the lines, I see the play of light and dark and then my heart swells with love, love for someone who can make her thoughts come out of her hands.
The beauty that is Ces' brain.
Isn't that Cesalicious??? Thank you so much!

I am feeling very thankful for the wondrous people who I have met in my life and in the blogs that can make their visions come out of their head. Ces is only one of them. I am lucky to know so many of them.
How did I get so lucky?
This is indeed a wondrous world we live in!
I remember this when I read a well turned phrase, a montage of color put just so, a felted flower, a poem of words and feelings, a doll of beauty and one of feeling, someplace where the artists in my life show their deepest soul and I feel it, I really feel it.
I forget this sometimes, with all of the strife and struggle, the bills to pay, the chores to do, the wounds to heal, the pain to get over, and the life to lead.
I was feeling grateful and wanted to share with you!
Show your beauty, someone like me is just waiting for the moment.

Madi's Birthday Suprise

Madi got a special gift from one of my sister friends, Ces, on her birthday. I am going to show you some glimpses of this fantastic picture and if you want to see the whole thing you can go here.
http://cesandherdishes.blogspot.com/2010/03/happy-birthday-madi.html
This is the birthday girl herself.
With butterflies from beginning...
I can not even begin to explain how wonderful this drawing is. I love Ces' work and I am drawn in to the depths of it by the minute detail.
...to end and in between
Well, to see it in person took my breath away. She pumps these babies out like it is nothing. You would think there would be smudges as fast as she works, but au contraire mon ami!
Click on the pics for a little bigger view of mastery at its finest!
Thank you Ces! I am so honored to have a piece of your art. Yes, what you see is true. Even though Madi loves this picture that you have drawn and giggles with delight when she sees it, she also love love loves to eat paper and I think I should keep it safe for her until she is about 33. My eyesight should be completely gone by then!!
The note on the back is divine. Bless you sweet one for your kindness.

She is brewing up another storm of goodness, do not miss it!

CES, another important thing 2009

Queen Nymph Marie by Ces, 2009

CES
I have a blog sister friend that is one of the most prolific artists and writers I have ever known. She does things in a succinct way. She is as sharp as a tack, loyal, and talented. It seems she never sleeps.
She is a detailed woman that can draw teeny tiny lines that I cannot even see. She even hides things in her drawings and has a secret language that you can see in drawings but might not be able to decipher. This to me is amazing and the planning must be intense.
Her paintings have a freedom and verve that jumps with color, texture, and shape, her drawings are tight, concise, and focused, she touches all sides of the spectrum in her art.
She goes by the moniker of Ces, and the place she resides on the blogs is at “Ces and her dishes”, but it has even been “Ces and her fishes”.

She does love dishes, not really to wash them though, but to admire.
She is married to a Viking and has 2 epsilons.
I have learned so much from this woman, her brilliance drives me to read the dictionary when I talk to her, but I know I don’t have to.
She is jovial, beautiful, and patriotic and just a nice person!
She has done one of the most amazing series of works.
There is a bit of reading and many pictures to look at. I have gathered all of the links for you.
Here is to Ces, a multi-faceted woman, a diamond, and a star in my life.
I am lucky enough to have a place among these wonderful oaks, I have no idea how I got there, but I am grateful. Thank you, dear Ces for your gifts, of which this is only one of many.
And now ladies and gentlemen…
