Monday Updates- Another week

I am exhausted, blissfully, and my hands are so dry from the paper.
It started on Friday night, I got to Jodi's about 9pm and we started right away. We finished the birdhouses that night.
I always bring my homemade Hummus. I do have to say that I think it is the best hummus I have ever eaten in my life and I have eaten tons of it, even in Israel.
It was very, very good in Israel, very good, but I like mine better (IMHO). We ate hummus and chips and made a huge mess. I was feeling totally gratefully for the place to escape to, the companionship from one of my favorite people, the craft craziness, and the good food.

Lucky, lucky me.

This is the table about 12 midnight

We stayed up till 3 am. Crazy, I know, and Jodi had been up since 5 am that morning.
She adores paper, it revs her right up. You can feel the love of it coming right off of her like waves when something floats her boat or she shows you something new.
We laughed and laughed and time flew by, I do not think either one of us realized what time it was.
When we finished the houses we started to make a small 10# envelope mini.
We had been planning to do something Steampunk.
She likes it too, but this is something that truly floats my boat.

My side of the table
What a mess. I am going to post more tomorrow with the winners to the  17th giveaway!!
I just wanted to let you know I was still alive!
Talk to you tomorrow!
Have a great night.

Another crafting marathon weekend

Jodi and I made these last time I was there. We had so much fun.
I am going to be crafting till the sun comes up or goes down this weekend with my friend Jodi. I have decided I have to leave home to get anything done. Trying to craft or make anything with an almost 2 year old is bad for my health and nerves.

These are from Laura's instructions at Papertrail
At Jodi's we can leave it out all night and the cats will leave it alone. That saves a ton of precious time. I can sleep in. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I will be popping in and out this weekend and I know I have the 17th giveaway, but I might not announce that till Tuesday.
I will also be taking pictures. Sheesh, I still have some to show you.
I want to get the stuff I am making for my family on the east coast done and packed so I can mail it out next week.
I am sorry I haven't talked to you all very much lately, I have been doing drive by blog hopping and long distance lurking. Please forgive me, there is only so much I can do in 18 hours a day and not sleeping is getting to me, I crabby, big time! ;-D

I will try to get back to you when I get back. If something really important comes up I will post it. If I pick the winner while I am out I will post it.
If you want to say something, do, I will be checking in all weekend.

Good luck to all who entered and as it stands right now I will be giving away 2 of the hearts.

Have a great weekend all of you!
Take care and give a little Christmas spirit to those around you. Smile at someone you don't know. Think positive thoughts and help someone in need. Just listening, sometimes is the biggest gift you can give of yourself. It is priceless.
Notice the beauty of winter or spring if you are in the southern hemisphere! There is beauty all around us, we just have to look up to see it.
Peace out!
Love and hugs.

My snapshot christmas bead was in two awesome treasuries today.

With all the treasuries and the excitement over some of the changes at Etsy, I am really getting in the holiday mood.
When you find a store or an artist you like you might want to click on their profile and check out their circle.
It is down on the left under profile click that, then when you get to their profile page you can find their "circle" in that same area on that opened page.
You will find that artists you like, like artists you will like. (read twice) ;-D

This one is Merry Magical.

Wednesday Wonder- Jumpin' Joe

Now this is something that makes me smile. Smiling is good.
I got this picture from a cute little blog "Much Ado About Nothing"

When I first stared in polymer clay, I was told that is was child's toy and that it would never be big in America or anywhere, that I was dreaming and didn't know what I was talking about.
It was an uphill battle all of the time.
Things sure have changed, haven't they?
Once you, the artist, make it a viable medium by using it, teaching it, and selling it, then comes the "marketing team" (who get paid the big bucks) to take over and show everyone how to use it, how it is sold and tell you what you need, when the artists have built up the need and customer base in the first place.

And this one from Briannarama
My answer then and my answer today is "It is not the medium, but what the artist does with that medium or (not an art medium) medium that makes it art and it also makes it a medium."

Every thing has the potential to be an art medium.

Just type in "Coffee Art" in You tube.

Remember "poopy pets"? They were garden fertilizer pets that had beans for eyes and were completely biodegradable and would feed your plants at the same time, they were even cute.

Here at Coffee Geek they will show you how to froth

Check out Web Designer Depot's collection

Then there was this artist...read this blog post at artopia for a glimpse, LOL!!
I love this one more than you will ever know for so many reasons. Talk about making a statement!!
If you are easily offended, please do not follow this link.

So, it is with great pleasure and a sideways smile on my face that I present "Coffee Art".
Baristas all over the world are playing with your coffee and making faces and images in your foam.
Right on!

And you must really go visit Andrew Saur and Angel Sarkela-Saur at just coffee art and see their amazing work using only coffee.

It is our job as artists to live outside our boxes, to make you think, and to push the meaning on standards throughout society, one of them being what we can use to create with.

Go on, get out there, and create something, anything.

In the spring, mow crop circles in your lawn, faces, or obscenities to your neighbor.
Make that lawn mower your brush and that lawn your canvas.

Just sayin' ☺
