Dawn Schiller's new book

Dawn Schiller is a very talented sculptor and she has finally written a book. Yay!! Dawn, I am very proud of you!
She has step by step photos and shows you how to make these lovely Fae Creatures from scratch. With detailed instructions and great pieces, this looks to be an asset to the polymer clay books library available for sculptors today!

Dawn is not only one of the most talented sculptors that I know, she is funny, quick-witted, and a dear friend. I am thrilled that she is published and I am thrilled for all of you. No matter where you are in the world you can enjoy Dawn's talent.

Dawn has a wonderful website with her works shown http://www.oddfae.com/
She has an etsy store http://www.oddfae.etsy.com/
Sells on ebay http://myworld.ebay.com/autumnthings/
Has a blog http://www.oddfae.blogspot.com/
She has and ArtFire store http://www.artfire.com/users/oddfae
And also a Cafe Press store http://www.cafepress.com/oddfae
Also has a fan page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/71326176904/
She shows at Comic- Con in San Diego and has been there for the last few years.

That finding is one of my Hoarders Closet findings. Yay Dawn!

Pre-Orders on Amazon are welcome and it won't be long before it is out!

But if you cannot wait to get the book, Dawn is teaching a class in the San Diego area before her Comic-Con appearance. She is going to show you how to make her assistant Fetch. I believe there are only a couple of spaces left.

Funny faces

OK, OK, I am still stuck on this faces thing. With the vampire and my grandmother down, I was itching to do more. You can read about them here.

Now, I have these guys.

I used suntan Cernit and decorating chalks and then antiqued with Neo-opaque Brown my all time favorite antiquing medium.

Since I have to make jewelry, I thought why not put them in the copper findings I make.

This is what I usually do with them.

I love Dawn Schillers Oddfae in findings.

I would love to be as good as her, but I know that practice will make perfect or a least better and I am inspired by her work. Viktor is one of my favorite pieces and we did it together. I did not do the face.

She helped me get back in to the sculpting thing after not doing any for a very long time. Her encouragement and gentle hand brought things back long buried.

That was at the last Sandy Camp, she did a couple of impromptu classes.

I enjoyed playing with the Cernit for sculpting more than any of the polymer clays I have ever worked with. It sort of just sculpted itself. I love the way it comes out after baking it.

This is what I did then.

I call him Snakeman and he is one of my all time favorite coneheads. LOL!! He is my only conehead.

Thank you Dawn! I am having so much fun!

I have received an award!

I am so excited, I have received an award from my friend and creative sister, Dawn Schiller, at http://oddfae.blogspot.com/ thank you friend! I think this is one of the nicest things that has ever happened to me. I can not even begin to tell you what this means to me.

Here is a description as to what this award means: "This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers"

Wow that is nice, really nice!!!

I now pass it along to 8 blogs that I feel are deserving of it. The other criteria is that when accepting the award, you must post the meaning of the award on your blog (see above).

It is my pleasure to give this to blogs that mean something in my world.
I am forever better because of these blogs and people.
These are not in any particular order
